When we make the effort to reach out to our neighbors, we continue to build and strengthen all that makes 100+ Women Who Care Southern Maine an incredible community.Thank you for your dedication to ending child hunger in Maine. Together we can make a difference!
Before the first case of COVID-19 was confirmed in our state, Full Plates Full Potential started hearing from Maine schools worried about how to feed the 80,000 students dependent upon meal assistance, in the event of school closure. We knew that with the future uncertain, we had to act.
We launched the Full Plates Emergency Fund fullplates.org/emergency-funding to provide urgent grants to schools and organizations operating emergency meal programs. We pledged that 100% of donations to the Emergency Fund would be deployed to schools and organizations.
To date, we’ve awarded funds to 95 schools and community organizations, and the applications keep coming in. We want to continue supporting schools and organizations but we need your help.
During the crisis schools are requesting funds for increased costs of feeding more kids, safe food packaging for breakfast and lunch meals and supplies like coolers and ice packs to keep meals safe on school buses routes to children’s homes.
